On July 7, 2015 I started having contractions at 1:30am and knew something was going on…..this baby was coming soon! After an all nighter of contractions and showers, my sister-in-law drove me to the Dr that day, July 7 to get checked. I was 1-2 cm dilated when I arrived and the contractions were getting stronger. They hooked me up to a monitor to check on Paisley and by the time I got ready to leave I was 2-3 cm dilated. I was then told to head to the hospital within the hour, so I called Rob and we headed out! (Side note, I was really wanting to be transferred in his cop car with blue lights and sirens like you see in the movies, didnt happen but would have been awesome…maybe next time) LOL Rob and I headed to Wake Med Cary where we were told we might get sent home if I wasn’t 4-5 cm dilated within an hour. So we walked around the hospital praying and talking to Paisley telling her she needed to come bc mommy could not wait any longer! Well our prayers were answered because when we got back I was 5 cm dilated, and this baby was coming. Contractions were at an all time high and being a first time pregnant lady, all I have to say is men…..y’all owe your ladies big time!!! Lord have mercy, women are the STRONGEST creatures on this planet, LOL. Within 2 hours I was 8-9 cm dilated and my midwife and nurses were getting ready to deliver this baby.
On July 7, 2015 at 9:11pm Paisley Grace entered into the world and was plopped onto my chest. I have never felt such love or joy the way I felt in that moment. I looked over at Rob and tears were streaming down his face, my heart was so full.
Paisley weighed 6.1 lbs. and was 18.5 inches long. We are so in love and cannot get enough of our baby girl!!
We cannot believe how much hair she has!!!
The nurses and doctors were concerned with Paisleys large soft spot on her scalp so they did an ultrasound to make sure everything was okay. My heart skipped multiple beats at this point and the wait for the radiologist seemed like it took what felt like forever. Thank God she was perfect and we were given the green light that we could head home. So blessed to have such a beautiful, healthy baby girl! Welcome home Paisley, we are over the moon to be your mommy and daddy!! Thank you Lord for such a beautiful gift from heaven!
