Fall Photo Session Guide

It’s that time of year again and we love it!!! Pumpkin spice everything, gorgeous fall leaves, and coordinating outfits for fall and winter photos!!! Yea!! I am here to help you every step of the way and want you to go into your session feeling comfortable and gorgeous! There are so many styles right now that are popular and very trendy, so narrowing it down to just one look is impossible! So below are some looks for you to glance at and see what style you like best! There are so many gorgeous colors that go well together and know you can find the PERFECT outfit for you and your family!

More than any other question, I am always asked by clients what they should wear to their family session. Coordinating your outfits can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be! I’ve put together some sample outfits, below, to inspire you to create your own ensemble. Here are some tips to take away from the collection:

1. Layer it up! Layers create visual interest and will keep you warm and cozy while we’re outside playing in the leaves. Think tights, cardigans, blazers, and scarves.

2. Choose two main hues you love, and develop your color scheme around them. Use the brightest color — also known as the accent color — sparingly.

3. Don’t forget accessories! Pieces like burlap suspenders or a flowery headband for the kids will take your ensemble to the next level of cute.

If you’re stumped coordinating your outfits, don’t worry! I am here to help, so message me your outfits if you get stuck and I will let you know what might look best! Also if you are a dressier kind of person and family, I always love super dressy outfits and long flowy dresses!!! 😉

Once you pass the coordinating outfits below, you will find some previous fall/winter session photos that I love! I hope this helps and happy fall y’all!!

**I do like to remind families that not all family sessions go as planned. Sometimes your little ones aren’t feeling that whole let’s take pictures and smile for the lady with the camera, so try not to get frustrated if your little one(s) gets a little testy. We can always take a short break and come back once they are feeling up to it. Nothing helps like a short 2 minute break and a cookie/candy bribery!  🙂

And if you get stuck, you can never go wrong with a Santa hat and a Grinch shirt!
